Hi, I have just fired up the Float N Slope system, and have made some changes.  The biggest change was going to a 120VAC pump.  I tried using 12 VDC pumps last year and had too many pump failures.  This year, I am using a 1/4 horse sump pump with a float switch.  The float switch has built in hystresis.  That eliminates the unit from shuting off and on when the level reaches the critical point of transition.  I found that if I mounted the cord of the float switch carefully, the system cycles very nicely.
This picture shows the float switch cable clamped to the side of the lower nutrient tank.  The float swith   is sold with the 1/4 horse power sump pump.  Cost is around $75 dollars.
